this course will cover basic principles of how to maintain database and how to tune database performance.such knowledge helps to tune applications on database management system,operation system,hardware,network.specifically,we will choose oracle dbms as an example to address the performance management.this course will include sets of experimental ___________script and data to help student master the skill in database management activities.

1 general introducetion:introduction of database management,tuning principles,course organization,and reqirements.
2. database backup introduction
3.cool backup and hot backup
4.recovery manager rman
5.data import and export
6.query tuning:query plan
7.query tunning:oracle hint.
8.memory optimization.(java pool)
9.oracle performance monitor(statpack,awr)
10.concurrency tuning:lock tuning,weaken isolation guarantees.
11.index tuning(index and join),io performance tuning.
12 .evaluation and exam.
